== Topography == Topography is the study and description of the surface features of land, which includes both natural and artificial features. Pakistan is divided into five major geographic areas the northern highlands; the Indus River plain, the Desert areas, the Potwar and Balochistan Plateau and Salt Range, and the Sistan Basin. All the Rivers of Pakistan, i.e., Sindh, Ravi, Chenab, Jhelum, and Sutlej originate from India. Some geographers designate Plateau is to the west of the imaginary southwest line; and the Indus Plain lies to the east of that line.
